Job summary

The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead is seeking a Ward Host to join Horder Healthcare, acting as a friendly link between patients and the catering team. You will take and communicate orders, prepare patient trays and serve meals with care, while supporting hygiene standards and a smooth kitchen flow.

We are looking for a patient-focused, dependable team player with strong communication and the flexibility to cover shifts, including weekends and evenings where required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety qualification or willingness to complete
• Awareness of safeguarding, food hygiene, allergen awareness and COSHH
• Basic Microsoft Office skills are helpful

Responsibilities

• Taking and communicating food and beverage orders for patients, visitors and staff
• Preparing patient trays and trolleys in line with individual orders and dietary requirements
• Supporting the preparation and service of sandwiches, salads, cold starters and beverages
• Serving food and drinks to agreed standards, always maintaining a warm and professional approach
• Restocking serveries, vending machines and counters so service areas are ready for use
• Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, food safety, presentation and customer care
• Recording allergen and special dietary information accurately and sharing it with the kitchen team
• Helping monitor patient, visitor and staff satisfaction and contributing ideas for service improvement
