Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an administrative professional to support hospital operations across patient admissions, notes management and ward administration. The role involves updating bed management records, ensuring accurate patient details, and coordinating with Nursing and Medical staff to maintain smooth patient flow.
The successful candidate will handle case-notes auditing, outpatient appointments, property handling, and communications across departments while upholding trust
Admitting, discharging and transferring patients onto Bed Management System. Reviewing EDNS (as required) and ensuring patients' personal details are up-to date and correctly entered onto the OASIS/PAS System. Inputting and amending Teletracking for Nursing Staff
Receiving and auditing patients' case-notes and ensuring notes available for ward rounds.
Inputting and amending Critical care electronic systems
Collecting Patients' case-notes from the Health Records Department, Transit area, Filing, updating and maintenance of patients' records, ensuring Patient Front sheet contains correct details
Delivery of Prescriptions Forms to Pharmacy and collection of drugs as appropriate
Assisting Nursing staff with processing of patients' property and valuables in accordance with policy and procedures and arranging for property to be taken into General Office for safe custody
Arranging appointments for Outpatient clinics as directed
Preparing of patients EDN's and admittance notification for GP's for completion by medical staff
Arranging ambulance transportation where authorised
Ordering and maintaining ward stationery and supplies
Completion of routine maintenance requests for forwarding to Estates Department
Receiving telephone calls, taking and relaying messages and referring calls as appropriate
throughout their stay
Delivery of notes, urgent requests, post, letters etc to other departments within the Hospital. Delivery of post, etc to patients
Assisting Audit team, rehabilitation nurse and practice development nurse with administration duties.
Arranging for requests for nursing aids, walking aids, surgical appliances to be processed with the appropriate departments
Ensuring all information correctly entered into the Admission and cross reference books
Photocopying paperwork as required and faxing as per policy guidelines
Any other duties as directed by Line Manager, Senior Nurse and Management Team
