Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust in Lancaster is seeking a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker for Ward 4. The role involves assisting with patient care, under the supervision of Registered Nurses, across a mix of shifts including long days and nights.

You will develop clinical skills, receive structured appraisal and training, and contribute to safe, high-quality care in an acute setting within an inclusive trust.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Care certificate.
• Experience working with the general public is preferred.
• Manual handling of patients.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Work under direction of a Registered Nurse and provide nursing care.
• Perform clinical skills such as observations and basic measurements.
• Document care in patient records.
• Keep the unit clean, safe, tidy and welcoming.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote patient wellbeing.
• Assist in delivering care to designated patient group.
• Assist in implementing direct clinical care.
• Determine patient comfort by talking and building rapport.
• Assist in feeding patients and complete food charts.
