Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker for Ward 4 in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancaster. The role supports nursing staff in delivering high-standard patient care within an acute hospital setting.

The post involves 37.5 hours per week across a mix of long days, nights, early and late shifts with no fixed pattern. Training and supervision are provided, with opportunities to develop clinical skills in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills required.
• Care certificate required.
• Experience of working with the general public beneficial.
• Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids.
• Previous Acute Clinical Support Worker experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform clinical skills such as observations and basic tests.
• Document care in patient records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to achieve patient outcomes.
• Assist in delivering care to a designated patient group.
• Support in feeding patients and complete food charts where needed.
