Job summary

Homes2Inspire, part of the Shaw Trust Group, is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker for Abbey House in Northampton (NN3). You will safeguard young people, support night routines and handover to the day team, promoting wellbeing and life skills.

The role is 40 hours weekly, 9pm–8am, 4 nights on/off, with weekend/bank holiday work. Full UK driving licence essential; QCF Level 3 training funded. Competitive benefits and training opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• Compassion, patience and a genuine desire to help young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Willingness to work towards QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (fully funded).
• Honesty, empathy and commitment to being a positive role model.
• Driver with FULL UK licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people during the night.
• Support with night-time routines and manage incidents as they occur.
• Provide thorough handover to the day shift.
• Support daily routines, household tasks and meal preparation.
• Encourage participation in activities and hobbies.
• Transport young people to school, appointments and activities.
• Liaise with social workers and therapists to meet needs.
• Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
