Job summary

CareTech UK Ltd in Wigan is recruiting Support Workers to join Ullswater Court, a registered Supported Living Service for adults 18+. Deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills and personal care, and promote independence and wellbeing.

You will work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins; maintain records; and provide companionship and community access. A caring, patient approach and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Care sector experience is essential.
• Willingness to work towards Level 2 QCF (Social Care Wales registration).
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week plus (rota-based)

Contractual Notes

About the Service – Ullswater Court

Royston Close is a registered Supported Living Service made up of self-contained flats, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts


• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.


• Holidays and short breaks


• Walks in the local park and community


• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
