Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Support Worker in Wigan to deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living tasks, and promote independence and wellbeing. You will join a team in a Royston Close service, working a rota that includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. DBS clearance is required and Level 2 QCF progression is supported.

The role offers salary described as per hour and is designed to provide long-term career development within a large UK care provider.

Qualifications

• Care sector experience is essential.
• Willingness to work towards Level 2 QCF (Social Care Wales registration).
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

About the Service – Royston Close

Royle Close is a registered Supported Living Service made up of self-contained flats, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role
