Job summary

Hft is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker in Bishop's Stortford to provide overnight, person-centred care. You will help individuals maintain routines, feel safe, and wake ready to engage in their day, with duties spanning personal care, wellbeing monitoring, and teamwork across day and night shifts.

The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and night shifts, with DBS and background checks part of the process.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships.
• Willingness to learn and work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, waking and sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive, and person-centred support throughout the night.
• Respond calmly to needs, offering reassurance and personal care when needed.
• Carry out night-time routines with kindness and respect.
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns to the daytime team.
• Promote independence in night-time routines and decision-making.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of care between day and night teams.
