Night Support Worker to provide high-quality waking-night support to homeless men with substance misuse issues within a psychologically informed environment.
THE ROLEAs a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping residents stabilise their substance use, develop life skills, and move towards independent living.
- Work as part of a team to create a safe and supportive environment
- Carry out risk assessments and develop personalised support plans
- Deliver high-quality support, including substance misuse interventions
- Support residents with accessing health services, benefits, and training
- Facilitate group activities, such as resident meetings and workshops
- Collaborate with external agencies to ensure integrated support
- Monitor and respond to safeguarding concerns, incidents, and anti-social behaviour
THE CANDIDATEWe are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar
Housing Support Worker or
Substance Misuse Support role.
- Experience working with homeless individuals or those with substance misuse issues
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments and support planning
- Ability to handle challenging behaviour in a professional manner
- Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and multi-agency working
- Strong communication and IT skills for accurate record-keeping
THE CONTRACT- 40 Hours per week – 22:00-08:30 currently, soon changing to 20:30-08:30 – this is on a 4-on, 4-off basis.
