Job summary

Cherry Trees provides specialist, home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities across our two homes in Surrey and Hampshire. We are seeking an overnight care worker to support residents, providing direct care and following care plans to ensure wellbeing.

You will perform welfare checks, complete daily reports, and hand over clearly to the day team. The role requires safeguarding commitment, calmness under pressure, and willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS.

• Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one

Job description

Carry out welfare checks throughout the night, at least every 15 minutes where required

• Comfort and settle children who wake during the night
• Follow care plans and medical guidance for each child

Household duties

• Complete laundry and light food preparation as needed
• Clean and maintain communal areas including toilets and floors

Records and handovers

• Complete daily reports and record incidents or medication given
• Hand over clearly to the day team each morning

Caring, patient and reliable with strong communication skills

• Able to stay calm under pressure during night shifts
• Comfortable working independently overnight
• Committed to safeguarding children and promoting their wellbeing
• Experience in residential childcare desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one

Salary / Pay: £155 per night, 30 hours (3 nights per week)

Shift Pattern: 9:00pm to 7:00am, part-time (30 hours), including some weekend work
