Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our expanding VT team in London. You’ll design, develop and review drawings for lifts, escalators and moving walkways across modernisation, new installation and maintenance projects.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team, apply analytical engineering principles, and oversee drawings, reports and site inspections while coordinating with other disciplines. Hybrid working and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ4, HNC or equivalent in lift/engineering.
• Extensive vertical transportation experience in lift contracting or consulting.
• Strong analytical knowledge of engineering principles.
• Team player with multidisciplinary design solution capabilities.
• Experience using Elevate, CAD, BIM and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation design concepts and lift sizing for buildings, including high-rise.
• Conduct lift traffic analysis, ideally using Elevate.
• Produce reports at key RIBA design stages and oversee VT drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate VT work with other disciplines and onsite inspections.
• Attend design team and client meetings and ensure safety policies are followed.
