Citi is hiring a skilled developer to evolve our next-generation front office eTrading applications. You will work closely with Traders, Sales, and Quants to influence the platform's future, while driving engineering standards to keep the system fast, stable and maintainable.

The role offers hybrid work and exposure to a fast-paced trading environment in London and across Europe. We value strong Java experience, multi-threading, and knowledge of modern tooling (Spring, Linux, REST) and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Extensive programming experience with an Object-oriented language (preferably Java).
• Solid architectural understanding of enterprise applications.
• Strong fundamentals in concurrency, algorithms, data structures and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing front office eTrading applications for the trading business.
• Collaborating with Traders, Sales, and Quants to shape platform direction.
• Improving platform stability, flexibility, and maintainability through engineering best practices.
• Enhancing automated testing and optimizing UAT processes.
• Mentoring team members in the EMEA region and coaching newer staff.
• Troubleshooting performance and scalability challenges in live environments.
• Engaging with London and European business users (Paris, Milan).
• Supporting third-line during core trading hours and liaising with global teams.
