Job summary

SMBC Group in London is seeking a VP in the Global Transaction Banking Department to own and drive the EMEA payments product strategy. You will translate priorities into plans, manage the backlog, and drive innovation, client adoption and revenue growth.

The role requires extensive experience in payments, regulatory/compliance, and cross-functional leadership within a complex financial services environment, with hybrid working as part of the package.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in payments product management or related field.
• Deep expertise in payments and transaction banking.
• Strong regulatory, compliance, security knowledge.
• Experience owning product strategy, roadmap delivery in financial services.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication for senior stakeholders.
• Experience working in a matrixed organisation.
• Knowledge of SWIFT, SEPA, Bacs, CHAPS, Faster Payments and Open Banking.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver SMBC's EMEA payments product strategy and roadmap.
• Act as end-to-end owner for payment products and strategic initiatives.
• Manage backlog and prioritise roadmap initiatives for business value.
• Collaborate with Sales, Group Treasury, Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance to secure decisions.
