SMBC Group in London is seeking an experienced Transaction Banking AVP to lead the payments product management within the GTBD. The role focuses on shaping the product roadmap, driving client adoption and revenue growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance and governance across payment propositions.

You will collaborate with Sales, Treasury, Technology and Compliance to deliver end-to-end payment solutions, leveraging ISO 20022 migration and emerging technologies to meet evolving client needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payments product management or equivalent expertise in a relevant domain area.
• Good knowledge of payments and transaction banking.
• Understanding of the regulatory, compliance, security and market landscape.
• Experience working in a complex financial services environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
• Understanding of payment schemes and rails including SWIFT, SEPA, Bacs, CHAPS, Faster Payments and Open Banking.

Responsabilités

• Help shape and deliver the payments product roadmap, translating strategic priorities into clear plans, milestones and outcomes.
• Undertake market discovery and client research by collaborating with Sales and Support, analysing internal performance data, competitor intelligence and market trends.
• Define business outcomes and requirements, support the management of the product development backlog, and prioritise roadmap initiatives to maximise business value and support timely execution across delivery teams.
• Contribute to the end-to-end business ownership of payment products and initiatives, connecting and aligning internal stakeholders to secure decisions and maintain delivery momentum.
• Help ensure all legal, regulatory, and governance standards are met through collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
