Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Java-focused lead software engineer to design, build and support automated trading systems in the equities domain. You will contribute to high-volume, low-latency platforms used by global teams and be involved in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.

The role requires strong Java, UNIX/Linux expertise and experience with modern dev tools. You will work in a flexible, hybrid environment within a leading financial services firm.

Qualifications

• Strong core Java knowledge in UNIX/Linux environment.
• Experience with building and maintaining low-latency trading systems.
• Familiarity with Git/Stash and Jenkins.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Knowledge of RESTful services and TypeScript/Angular is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Java-based trading strategies and engines.
• Collaborate with global product, quant, and IT teams to improve platform performance.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and robust error handling in systems.
