Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Financial Reporting, Policy & Technical Accounting Lead to drive external financial reporting, including statutory and group accounts, with outputs that are accurate, timely and fully compliant with accounting standards.

You will lead technical accounting activities, provide guidance to stakeholders, and collaborate with Risk to ensure disclosures reflect the firm's risk profile while maintaining consistency across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience owning technical accounting processes and multi-entity statutory reporting.
• FinTech or EMI experience desirable with understanding of electronic money regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements per accounting standards.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks; report to senior colleagues.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date financial policies and procedures.
• Manage selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software.
• Coordinate statutory and regulatory reports; support other departments.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators during audits.
