Job summary

Head4Talent seeks a Financial Reporting Senior Lead in the UK to own statutory financial reporting, oversee Group accounts, and act as the technical accounting authority. You will drive IFRS-compliant disclosures and coordinate external audit relationships.

You will lead the preparation of annual statutory statements, support policy development, and provide clear, Board-ready papers on accounting judgements and risks. Significant post-qualification experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA or equivalent with significant post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience within listed entities or complex regulated organisations.
• Demonstrable experience providing independent technical accounting advice to Executive.
• Proven experience leading statutory reporting processes and external audit relationships.
• Strong track record of managing complex accounting judgements and policy decisions.
• Experience implementing accounting standard changes and assessing business impacts.
• Strong written communication skills, with experience producing Board-level papers.
• High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for the business and the consolidated Group accounts ensuring full compliance with applicable IFRS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversight of the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for subsidiary companies and Group consolidation.
• Maintain robust supporting documentation and audit trails for all financial disclosures.
• Act as the Group's recognised authority on technical accounting matters, providing definitive accounting conclusions and recommendations.
• Interpret and lead implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
• Prepare technical accounting papers and policy documentation for senior stakeholders.
• Lead accounting assessments for significant transactions, new products, business initiatives and strategic projects.
• Influence decision-making through clear recommendations on accounting, reporting and financial control implications.
• Prepare high-quality Board papers and financial reports, clearly articulating key issues, risks, and judgements.
