We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP Accounting and Finance, Europe, to oversee our financial operations across the European region. This key leadership role will establish accounting processes and controls for QTS’s expanding European data center business. This position will ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial reporting and will assist in forecasting cash flows and monitoring budgets. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and have the ability to collaborate effectively with our global finance, tax and legal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Oversight: Lead the accounting operations for the European region, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.Leverage technology to streamline financial operations and reporting.Collaborate with accounting and finance teams in the U.S. to ensure consistent reporting accuracy and controls.Stay current with industry best practices and incorporate them into the accounting function.
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Oversee the preparation of financial analysis, including ad hoc analysis requested by parent company and investors.Provide input to budgets, forecasts and capital plans.Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
  • Cash and Equity Management: Ensure effective cash flow management and liquidity planning, in partnership with the Treasury department.Develop and implement robust cash forecasting processes.Support equity activities, including execution of capital allocation and funding strategies in collaboration with QTS, investors and external partners.
  • Accounting Compliance and Control: Ensure adherence to European and international accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Implement and maintain strong internal controls and risk management procedures.Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings.
  • Tax Coordination: Collaborate with the tax department to ensure compliance with European tax laws and regulations.Support tax planning and strategy efforts by providing relevant financial data and insights.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team across multiple European locations.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the finance team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting, including senior leadership roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of European and international accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Familiarity with European tax laws and the ability to coordinate effectively with the tax department.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a multinational corporation.
  • Proficiency in multiple European languages.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and IFRS principles
  • MBA
  • CPA/ACA/ACCA

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires occasional travel within Europe and to the U.S.
  • Flexibility to work across different time zones is essential.
