Job summary
Flotek is seeking a Comms Specialist Engineer to join our UK team, based in Bridgend or St Asaph. You will provide high-quality remote support for VoIP, connectivity and data networks, resolving incidents and driving customer satisfaction.
The role is full-time and office-based with weekend on-call on rotation. You will work across SIP, VoIP platforms and network infrastructure, troubleshooting end-to-end incidents and communicating clear updates to customers and colleagues.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in a VoIP or communications support role.
- Good understanding of SIP, RTP, NAT and VoIP fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs and firewall concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues logically.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced helpdesk environment.
- Desire to grow into more advanced comms engineering roles.
Responsibilities
- Incident management: act as first contact for telecoms incidents and log faults.
- Service level management: resolve tickets within SLAs with clear updates.
- Ownership and escalation: manage incidents end to end with diagnostics.
- Technical troubleshooting: diagnose VoIP systems, SIP trunks, handsets, routers.
- Supplier coordination: liaise with carriers and hosted voice providers.
- Service monitoring: detect outages and quality issues and respond quickly.
- Continual improvement: document fixes and workarounds for knowledge base.
