Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative to support a busy void repairs contract in Leeds. You will carry out end-to-end repairs across multiple trades to bring empty social housing properties back to lettable standard, ensuring quality and safety for residents.

Working 42.5 hours weekly, you will use handheld devices to record work, meet targets, and handover completed properties. A Full UK driving licence and commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service in occupied homes
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs and maintenance works within void social housing properties, ensuring lettable standard safely and on time
• Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across void social housing properties
• Replace and repair skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
• Repair or replace internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges
• Identify and repair minor plumbing issues including leaks, drips and blocked sinks
• Carry out patch plastering and make good damaged walls and ceilings
• Complete wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
• Undertake painting and decorating to a professional finish as part of void refurbishment works
• Ensure all work is completed to specification and quality standards before handover
• Record job details and materials using handheld devices or job sheets
