Job summary

Mears Group is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Evesham team. You will perform a range of property maintenance tasks in void social housing, including painting, plumbing, carpentry and tiling, ensuring lettable standards are met.

We value reliable, skilled tradespeople who can work independently, record job details on handheld devices, and collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality repairs efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic repairs across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on void properties.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs and refurbishment works across void social housing properties.
• Replacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames.
• Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors.
• Repairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks and blocked sinks.
• Carrying out patch plastering and making good damaged walls or ceilings.
• Completing wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing.
• Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair and refurbishment works.
• Maintaining tools and company vehicle in good order.
• Managing daily workload to meet service targets.
