Job summary

The National Trust welcomes applications for a Welcome Manager position at Winkworth Arboretum, Godalming. This fixed-term, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) leads the visitor reception and a team of staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional experiences and meet fundraising and visitor targets.

You'll manage budgets, car park and shop operations, and work weekends on a rota. Interviews will be held in person on 20 November. Closing date 8 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in visitor services, tourism, heritage or similar situations.
• Naturally curious about people, and motivated to give the highest standards of service.
• Highly organised.
• A confident leader.
• Adept at managing financial performance.
• Able to work weekends on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Lead on day-to-day running of the visitor operation at Winkworth Arboretum (visitor reception).
• Manage a team of staff (6 core, up to 12 at peak).
• Drive visitor, membership and fundraising targets and budgets.
• Oversee car park and bookshop operations and visitor engagement.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and presentation.
