Job summary

English Heritage invites applications for a Dover Castle Visitor Assistant to help deliver engaging visitor experiences and education visits. The role focuses on education sessions for young people and supporting a busy site team.

You will work 5 hours per week, with seasonal hours from April to October and flexible weekends. A DBS check is required; full training is provided, joining a welcoming team at Dover Castle.

Would you like to work for the charity that cares for hundreds of historic sites in every corner of England? We are looking for a Visitor Assistant with a focus on delivering education visits to join us at Dover Castle working 5 hours per week.

No history background? No problem. What is important to us is a passion for people and excellent customer service. You will enjoy working with others as part of a team and understand what makes excellent customer service to deliver an engaging visitor experience to a diverse audience.

By joining us as a Dover Castle Visitor Assistant, you will be part of an amazing team of employees and volunteers, ensuring visitors have a great time from the moment they arrive until they say goodbye.

Please note, this role has a focus on delivering education sessions for young people. Because of this, we are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering education opportunities for young people to help us deliver our Discovery Visit sessions at Dover Castle. You will also be trained to run sessions in the Dover Castle Escape Room.

Some paid or voluntary experience with young people is essential for this role and full training and support is provided as part of your induction. You may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays, more information will be provided at interview.

Please note; due to the responsibilities and requirements of this role, successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, any employment offer will be contingent on this.
