Job summary

AECOM LIMITED is seeking a Highways & Traffic Engineer in Bristol to design and deliver traffic engineering and urban realm projects. You will contribute from concept through to construction, influencing safety and sustainability of transport networks in the Southwest.

Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working on projects for clients like the West of England Combined Authority. The role supports flexible hybrid working and professional development through AECOM University and networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for local roads and traffic schemes.
• Knowledge of alignment, drainage, pavements, road restraint systems, signage and markings.
• Understanding of cycling infrastructure, traffic calming, junction design, and footway/carriageway improvements.
• Familiarity with TSRGD, Manual for Streets, DMRB, and Traffic Signs Manual.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for local roads and traffic schemes.
• Support with design standards compliance including TSRGD/DMRB/TSM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects for clients like West of England Combined Authority and Bath & North East Somerset Council.
