Job summary

Comxps Ltd seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to work on a Government client project in Wiltshire. The role is a 6-month tasking contract with 105 days of delivery and requires SC clearance or eligibility. On-site work is four days per week with some office-based tasks and formal technical documentation.

Strong VMware expertise and automation skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate IaC development, API-driven automation, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations.
• Automation using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
• Infrastructure as Code and API-driven automation experience.
• Understanding of enterprise networking and underpinning services.
• Experience integrating platforms with DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of platform security and hardening best practices.
• Delivery experience in secure or regulated environments.
• Ability to produce technical documentation (LLDs, build guides, runbooks).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Strong experience with VMware virtualisation platforms (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
• Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and SDDC components (NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations).
• Strong automation experience using tools such as PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
• Experience developing Infrastructure as Code and API-driven automation solutions.
• Understanding of enterprise networking and underpinning services (e.g. DNS, load balancing).
• Experience integrating platforms with DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of platform security and hardening best practices.
• Experience delivering within secure or regulated environments.
• Ability to produce technical documentation (LLDs, build guides, runbooks).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
