Job summary

Tektora Limited, supporting a leading Defence and National Security IT provider, seeks a DV-cleared VMware Infrastructure Architect for a contract, on-site role in Hampshire. You will design, implement and optimise VMware-based IaaS solutions, including VCF, NSX-T and Cloud Director, with air-gapped security considerations.

Responsibilities include deploying VCF components, integrating Aria Operations, enabling DR with Cloud Director Availability and ensuring secure by design delivery.

Qualifications

• UK Sole National with active DV Clearance.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and managing VMware-based virtualisation solutions.
• Strong experience across VMware Cloud Director, NSX-T and vRealize Orchestrator.
• In-depth knowledge of virtualisation concepts and VMware vSphere architecture.
• Strong understanding of software-defined networking principles and NSX-T configuration and management.
• Hands-on scripting for automation, for example PowerShell or Python.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• VMware certification such as VCP or VCAP.
• Experience of air-gapped or offline patching within secure environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.

• Designing and implementing capabilities for air-gapped patching and updates within the VCF environment.

• Deploying and managing VMware Cloud Director instances, including resource pools, organisations, virtual data centres and networking.
• Designing and implementing VMware Cloud Director Availability for disaster recovery and workload mobility.
• Collaborating with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems.
• Providing technical expertise during testing, troubleshooting and resolution, including Omnissa Horizon VDI.
• Developing and maintaining architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures and technical guides.

Tektora are supporting a leading Defence and National Security IT provider who are looking to speak with DV Cleared VMware Infrastructure Architects for a contract opportunity building a secure Infrastructure as a Service platform on VMware Cloud Foundation.

This role would suit someone with deep VMware virtualisation design experience across VCF, VCD and NSX-T who is looking to develop further across secure by design principles and air-gapped platform delivery.

The Role

You will be involved in:
