Job summary

Harris Lord Recruitment is seeking a Vineyard Manager & Winery Assistant for a small, thriving vineyard and winery in Norfolk. The role includes hands-on management of day-to-day vineyard tasks and assisting winemaking, with a salary of £30,000 plus overtime and on-site accommodation.

You will work with an experienced consultant winemaker and vineyard owner, contributing to the growth of an English wine business while hosting tours and events.

Qualifications

• BSc in Viticulture & Oenology or equivalent practical experience.
• PA1 and PA3 spray certifications (6 is noted)
• Forklift licence and tractor experience are required.
• Full UK driving licence with trailer entitlement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day vineyard operations including pruning, spraying, canopy management and harvest.
• Monitoring vine health and maintaining vineyard infrastructure.
• Planning seasonal vineyard work programmes.
• Coordinating additional labour during busy periods.
• Supporting all aspects of winemaking from grape processing to bottling.
• Carrying out routine wine analysis and cellar work.
• Maintaining winery equipment and production records.
• Overseeing harvest activity and logistics.
• Supporting production of still and sparkling wines.
• Hosting vineyard tours, tastings and monthly events.
• Representing the vineyard at local markets and events.

Are you passionate about viticulture and winemaking and looking for a role where you can be genuinely involved in the full journey from grape to glass?

We are recruiting for a Vineyard Manager & Winery Assistant to join a small but thriving vineyard and winery in beautiful Norfolk.

This is an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity offering a salary of £30,000 plus overtime, together with on-site accommodation in a farm cottage.

Working closely with an experienced consultant winemaker and the vineyard owner, you'll have the opportunity to play an important part in the continued development of the vineyard and wine business.

The role

• Managing day-to-day vineyard operations including pruning, spraying, canopy management and harvest
• Monitoring vine health and maintaining vineyard infrastructure
• Planning seasonal vineyard work programmes
• Coordinating additional labour during busy periods
• Supporting all aspects of winemaking, from grape processing and pressing through to fermentation, racking and bottling
• Carrying out routine wine analysis and cellar work
• Maintaining winery equipment and accurate production records
• Coordinating and overseeing harvest activity and logistics
• Supporting the production of both still and sparkling wines
• Helping to host vineyard tours, tastings and monthly events
• Representing the vineyard at local markets and events

About you

• A BSc in Viticulture & Oenology or equivalent practical experience
• Experience of cool-climate vineyard management
• PA1 and PA3 & 6 spray certifications
• Tractor and forklift experience
• A valid forklift licence
• Full, clean UK driving licence with trailer entitlement
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach
• Experience with both still and sparkling wine production, laboratory work or WSET qualifications would be an advantage.
