Job summary

Retirement Villages is seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the village estate, grounds, housekeeping and safety compliance. You will lead a team of Estates Operatives and contractors, manage budgets and drive service excellence for residents and staff.

You will ensure PM routines, safety standards, and compliance with fire, legionella, water safety, and building regs while fostering a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience managing estates, buildings or residential facilities
• IOSH Managing Safely and Legionella awareness certification
• Practical knowledge of fire, water and building safety regulations
• Strong IT and systems capability (Office 365 and facilities software platforms)
• Clear communicator with a people-first, solution-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Oversee village buildings, grounds, and housekeeping services
• Lead Estates Operatives and contractors within budget
• Ensure health and safety compliance including fire and water safety
• Recruit, train, and develop the estates team
• Plan staffing rotas and monitor performance
• Support annual budgeting and cost control
• Prepare homes for resale or rental and minimise voids
