Job summary

Lancashire Constabulary in Chorley is seeking a Victim Care Officer (LC5) to join our Victim Services team. You will be the designated care support provider for victims, responding to calls and offering compassionate support.

The role requires experience in customer service, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and to analyse information to inform care. It is a full-time, permanent post with 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a Customer Service role and providing customer advice in a busy environment
  • Experience of working with minimal supervision, organising and prioritising own workload whilst working towards deadlines within a busy environment
  • Experience of working on own initiative, drawing inferences, conclusions and / or recommendations based on the analysis of data/ information

Responsibilities

  • To receive and respond to telephone calls from victims of crime via the dedicated support line.
  • To proactively contact victims to offer support in accordance with procedures.
  • To be a listening ear for victims, provide reassurance and show compassion.
  • Take ownership for individual victims and be their designated care support provider and coordinator, ensure trust and confidence are established and developed with the victim to better support them.
