Wiltshire Police is seeking a Victim & Witness Liaison Officer to provide guidance, reassurance, and practical support to victims and witnesses through the Criminal Justice process, ensuring they feel informed and supported.

This 12-month secondment offers a chance to help deliver a victim-focused service in collaboration with policing departments and Criminal Justice partners, with potential for permanent expansion if demand allows.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support and guidance to victims and witnesses throughout the Criminal Justice process.
• Keep victims and witnesses informed about the progress of their cases, including important court updates and outcomes.
• Signpost individuals to relevant support services, specialist organisations, and community resources to meet their identified needs.
• Act as a trusted point of contact, offering reassurance and responding sensitively to concerns and enquiries.
• Work within a secure and confidential environment, handling sensitive information responsibly and in accordance with data protection requirements.
• Manage a personal caseload, prioritising and coordinating multiple cases effectively to ensure high standards of service delivery.
• Utilise excellent customer service skills to support individuals who may be distressed, vulnerable, or experiencing challenging circumstances.
• Help victims and witnesses understand the Criminal Justice System, explaining processes, expectations, and available support in a clear and accessible way.
• Work collaboratively with Criminal Justice partners and other agencies to deliver coordinated support and positive outcomes for victims and witnesses.
