Job description

Here at Scarsdale Vets, we're on the lookout for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established team on a permanent basis. This role would be mainly based at our Pride hospital, with occasional shifts at supporting branches. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team. If you are looking to specialise, we can provide that opportunity, whether studying for a certificate or offering specialist services or treatments. We have varied surgical and medical caseloads, allowing clinical freedom to follow your own cases with regular operating opportunities. We offer relocation support of up to £2500 and a welcome bonus of £2000 (pro rata).

Rota patterns that work for you

We offer flexible working patterns that adapt to your lifestyle and interests. Whether balancing home life or school commitments, we can create a role that suits your skills. A typical full-time role involves working 38 hours over 4 days, with shared weekend rota and time off in lieu for weekend work.

A bit about us

We are a multisite practice in the Midlands, with a main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital and 8 practice sites, all accredited under the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. Our team includes Veterinary Surgeons, many with certificates in Medicine, Surgery, ECC, and Ophthalmology, supported by Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, and Client Care Advisors. Our Derby hospital is well-equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including a CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital X-ray, dental radiography, and an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre, along with a referral service.

A great place to live and work

Located centrally with excellent transport links, Derby offers easy access to cities like Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham, and London via the M1. East Midlands Airport is just 30 minutes away. The area is close to the Peak District for outdoor activities and offers cultural venues like Derby Theatre and local gigs.
