Job description

Did you know Wath upon Dearne is home to the Old Moor Wetland Centre, a popular nature reserve managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds?

It offers stunning landscapes, with the River Dearne flowing through, only adding to its charm. There is so much history in every inch of this town from the ancient All Saints Church to the remnants of the once-thriving coal mining industry. Medivet Wath is a kind and caring team who are able to offer a full range of veterinary services and facilities, including nurse clinics and dental procedures, alongside friendly, expert care. The practice is supported by our newly appointed Practice Manager and the Veterinary and Nursing team.

We are offering a full-time working pattern of 4 weekdays per week and a 1 in 6 weekend rota.

Role Accountabilities:

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients, and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have. In this role you will:

  1. Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  2. Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  3. Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  4. Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  5. Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  6. Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  7. Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  1. RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  2. Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  3. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  4. Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  5. Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  6. Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  7. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
