Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Nottingham

Type: Small Animal

Location: Nottingham

Practice Type: Independent - They operate an online Veterinary Practice Premises (VPP) registered with the RCVS, providing veterinary medicines to pets across the UK.

About them: Clients submit veterinary prescriptions via a secure online portal, which are then clinically screened and dispensed by their Nottingham-based team.

Facilities: Modern & well-equipped

Role: Non-patient-facing role with opportunities to work from home part of the week

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen prescriptions submitted against orders, ensuring clinical safety and legality, liaising with customers and veterinary practices as needed.
• Respond to customer queries requiring veterinary input.
• Maintain contact with veterinary medicine wholesalers to ensure smooth supply.
• Check all orders prior to dispatch, and sign off on them.
• Highlight and address mistakes during order/picking processes.
• Ensure compliance with RCVS and VMD regulations.
• Handle customer complaints directly.
• Report fraudulent prescriptions to the VMD and document these cases.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Participate in continuing education to stay updated on veterinary medicine advancements.
• Provide expert advice to pet owners regarding veterinary medicines.

Hours: 30 hours per week - Part-time with flexible hours and WFH options.

Qualifications: DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school and membership of the RCVS.

Salary: £39,000 - £54,600 annually, including allowances.
