Job Description

Our Client is an independent practice, established for over 100 years, and is now seeking an experienced Mixed or Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated and friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment that delivers high-quality, modern veterinary care in the heart of North East England, with easy access to cities, countryside, and the coast.

This role offers full-time hours with a flexible rota that includes 1 night on call per week (with backup support), 1 in 6 full weekends on call (with a long weekend in lieu), and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. Part-time hours are also considered, ideally covering at least two full days per week plus a share in the weekend rota.

The practice provides a varied caseload, with an approximate split of 80% small animal, 10% equine, and 10% farm work. Candidates looking for small animal-only work are also welcome. There is no sole-charge out-of-hours work.

The ideal candidate will be confident with routine procedures and consultations, possess a full driving licence, and have strong communication and team-working skills. Support and mentorship are available, and CPD is actively encouraged.
