Join a leading veterinary group in the North East, providing emergency care as part of a dedicated team. This role offers a chance to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment with diverse cases and opportunities for personal development. Enjoy competitive benefits including extensive CPD opportunities and a good work-life balance.
The successful applicant will join an established and growing team of diplomates and residency-trained surgeons and clinicians, with support from a large discipline-specific nursing team. They will provide Out of Hours (OOH) cover for our referral in-patients and support local primary care practices that use Wear Referrals to provide their out-of-hours cover. They will be part of a large, dedicated OOH team working with at least 5 OOH Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), a student nurse or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) each shift, with Intern backshift support over the weekends, and our referral surgeons and clinicians are on call in addition for both in-person and telephone support.
This role would suit an experienced primary care vet looking to gain experience in a large 24/7 referral hospital and exposure to a complex and varied caseload. An Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) certificate would be advantageous and we would fully support the successful candidate in undertaking a certificate or further ECC studies.
We encourage an evidence-based, multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere. We have an active internship programme and are expanding our residency programmes. Our extensive clinical caseload provides an interesting variety of cases and supports ongoing clinical research that is actively encouraged and supported. Linnaeus Veterinary Limited facilitates a highly collaborative approach between their hospitals and colleagues.
Applicants must be highly motivated, proactive and passionate about delivering clinical excellence, with excellent social and clinical skills and we offer rota patterns that ensure a good work-life balance.
This role is to cover weekend days and/or night shifts on a full-time or part-time basis.
