Heath Vets in Cardiff is seeking a friendly Receptionist to join our team on a part-time permanent basis. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You will manage appointments, handle enquiries, support client communications, and work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Heath Vets on a part-time permanent basis.

At Heath Vets, we prioritise work-life balance, offering no weekend or out-of-hours duties. We are a well-established, first-opinion practice with locations in Cardiff and Penarth, offering the perfect blend of countryside tranquility and city convenience. Across our five branches, we are well-equipped with an in-house lab to support our clinical work.

You will be joining a dedicated and caring team, including experienced Practice and Clinical Directors, four Veterinary Surgeons, and a supportive group of RVNs and other team members. We believe in sharing knowledge and fostering an inclusive environment where your input is valued, and we thrive on this collaborative approach.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

• 25 hours over five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Veterinary reception can be busy and varied, so we value people who can remain calm under pressure, communicate confidently and work well as part of a wider team. You will be joining a supportive and friendly team who work closely together to provide the best possible experience for both our clients and their pets. No two days are the same, and the role offers plenty of variety, from welcoming clients and answering calls to booking appointments, supporting the clinical team and helping with the day-to-day running of the practice.
