CVS Vets in Totnes is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team. The role involves managing calls, booking appointments, greeting clients, handling insurance forms, and processing payments at our Steamer Quay Road practice with the option to work at the Preston, Paignton branch on occasion.

We value empathy, strong communication, and excellent customer service, with some evenings and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous receptionist experience is essential; veterinary setting is a bonus.
• Ability to handle emotional situations with resilience.
• Excellent communication and empathy with clients.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism.
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome.
• Process and manage insurance forms adeptly.
• Dispense medications as required.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism.
• Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently.
• Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries.
• Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings and refunds.

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to step into the role of a Veterinary Receptionist at Seymour Vets

Location:

Steamer Quay Road, Totnes, TQ9 5AL

Contract:

Permanent

Hours:

40hrs per week

Salary:

£8.00 - £12.71 per hour, depending on age and in accordance with National Minimum Wage legislation

Shift Pattern:

The rota will includesome eveningsand weekends and some shifts at our branch surgery in Preston, Paignton.

Discover Our Practice:

We are a friendly small animal practice with a team of 6 vets. The practice is situated near the river in Bridgetown, Totnes with a large onsite carpark. We also offer a CT referral service with clients visiting from a variety of practices in the area. You will be supported by our existing reception team and be part of the Seymour Vets family who are friendly, caring and a great team to be a part of.

About the Role:

• Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
• Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
• Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Who We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with grace
• Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
• Outstanding customer service skills and experience with the public
• Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
