CVS Vets in Scarborough is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at 156 Falsgrave Road. You’ll manage calls, book appointments, greet clients, and handle insurance forms.

The role offers 40 hours per week on a Monday–Friday rota with Saturday mornings, salary aligned with national minimum wage and a supportive, pet-first environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a receptionist is essential.
• Strong communication and listening skills with empathy.
• Outstanding customer service and ability to handle the public.
• Positive attitude and good teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism.
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome.
• Process and manage insurance forms effectively.
• Dispense medications as required.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Provide empathy and support to clients during stressful times.
• Organise patients using the in-house system.
• Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries.
• Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings and refunds.
• Ensure every client feels welcomed and valued at the practice.

Role Details:

Location: 156 Falsgrave Road, Scarborough, YO12 5BE

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday on a varied shift pattern between 08.30 – 18.30, with a share in the Saturday 08.45 – 12.15 rota

About the Role:

• Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
• Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism

• Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
• Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
• Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Who We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
• Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with grace
• Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
• Outstanding customer service skills and experience with the public
• Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
