Job summary

London Vet Specialists is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our multidisciplinary referral centre in Hammersmith. You will collaborate with the HoNS, Lead Nurses, RVNs and Clinicians to deliver outstanding patient care across all services.

The role requires prior animal care experience or completion of an animal care course, with a commitment to high standards, teamwork and patient welfare in a busy hospital environment. Evening and weekend shifts are included.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in veterinary patient care or completion of an animal care course.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care under the supervision of clinicians and nursing team, including exercise, feeding and grooming of hospitalised patients.
• Maintain patient accommodation and welfare, provide enrichment and supportive aids as required.
• Assist with patient preparation, surgical support and recovery under clinicians and RVNs.
• Theatre maintenance including preparation and cleaning between surgeries.
• Assist with laboratory diagnostic techniques and handling samples for in-house or external labs.
