Job summary

University of Lancashire is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Technical Services team at the Preston campus. You will support undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary and laboratory activities in our state-of-the-art facilities, including mock theatres, dentistry, radiography, kennels and cattery, and hydrotherapy.

You must have a degree in Veterinary Science, be practical with animal science interests, IT literate, and able to work flexibly with the student timetable.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science or equivalent experiential learning in Veterinary Science will be required for this role.
• You will need to be practical with a keen interest in animal sciences, be IT literate and have a working knowledge of veterinary equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with colleagues, staff and students.
• A flexible approach is required to weekly working patterns due to the student timetable.
• A degree of manual handling may be involved lifting and carrying clinical/veterinary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare laboratories and provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students in Veterinary Science.
• Support undergraduate and postgraduate activities in our clinical areas at the Preston campus.
