Job summary

Medivet & Partners in Watford is seeking a Veterinary Laboratory Assistant to join our busy Specimen Reception team. You will handle sample reception, labeling, data entry, and distribution of materials, ensuring accurate records and timely delivery of supplies to clients.

This role offers 25 hours per week with six-hour shifts from 6am to 12 noon, Tuesday to Saturday. We value strong organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork in a supportive laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and clear written/spoken English.
• Organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy lab.
• Attention to detail with accurate data entry and record-keeping.
• Resilient, able to work under pressure and in a team.
• Collaborative approach to lab duties and client support.

Responsibilities

• Specimen reception: open, record contents, sort into sections.
• Prepare diagnostic specimens for testing and store appropriately.
• Data entry into LIMS and retrieve data as needed.
• Distribute consumables and assist clients with sample questions.
• Sort and distribute deliveries; maintain a tidy, compliant workspace.
• Support quality standards and participate in audits.
