Job summary

Medivet Group in Watford is seeking a Veterinary Laboratory Assistant to join our friendly Specimen Reception team. You will receive biological samples from customers, label and distribute them within the laboratory, and perform accurate data entry into the LIMS management system to support diagnostic services.

The role is 25 hours per week, with six-hour shifts from 6am to 12 noon, Tuesday to Saturday. You will also help with sorting, storage, handling calls from clients, maintaining a tidy

Responsibilities

• Specimen reception: open, record, and sort incoming samples.
• Prepare diagnostic specimens for testing and store appropriately.
• Data entry into the LIMS with accuracy and timely updates.
• Distribute consumables and assist clients with sample questions.
• Sort and distribute deliveries; maintain logs and GDPR compliance.
• Answer telephone queries related to specimens.
• Maintain a tidy and safe laboratory workspace.
• Support quality standards and participate in audits.
