We are seeking an organised, personable Administrator/Receptionist to join our team at Forge Farm Vets on a part-time fixed-term basis for 12 months.

Beautiful Shropshire has rolling countryside, vibrant market towns, and easy access to both the Welsh hills and bustling cities such as Shrewsbury, Chester and Birmingham. Whether you're into hiking, cycling, food festivals or just enjoying a proper country pub, you'll find plenty to love here.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time role working 19 hours per week over 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday 9am-3pm, Friday 9- 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

This is a varied and important role, providing a welcoming first point of contact for our clients while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

We are looking for someone who is approachable and confident when dealing with clients, who is highly organised and has good attention to detail.

The successful candidate should be comfortable handling administrative tasks, using computers and standard operating systems.

Previous experience in a veterinary practice, agricultural business or similar customer facing role would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

An interest in farming or the veterinary sector would also be beneficial.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You are a friendly, organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys working as part of a team. You’ll bring:

  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on service and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • A proactive attitude, with openness to feedback and learning

  • Clear career pathways with progression opportunities within client care and practice leadership roles
  • Ongoing learning and development supported by experienced colleagues and practice teams
  • A values-led culture focused on care, community and continuous improvement
