Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Berthing Services Project Engineer for Devonport Royal Dockyard. The role is full time, on site at Devonport, with hybrid options where applicable, and offers a salary of £32,500 - £40,700 plus benefits.

You will support vessel movements, berthing coordination, and waterfront operations to ensure safe and efficient outcomes. The role requires planning, stakeholder management, and experience with MS Excel/Project, plus a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Planning and scheduling experience within an operational/engineering/project environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to delivering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end service requests relating to vessel movements, waste services and waterfront operations.
• Coordinate berthing schedules to ensure safe, efficient and timely execution of operational activities.
• Collaborate with operational teams and berthing officers to resolve issues and balance priorities.
• Monitor and coordinate maintenance schedules for critical waterfront assets to maximise operational availability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with contractual, legislative and regulatory requirements.
