Vanrath are assisting a major Public Sector client in recruiting a Venue Manager to join their Arts and Culture team in Newtownabbey. The role covers theatre, conferencing and cultural events with a hands-on approach.

You will oversee operations, bookings and client liaison, manage staff rosters, ensure health and safety, and deliver high quality customer service across venues, including evenings and events.

Competenze

• At least 2 years supervisory experience in a customer-focused service role.
• Five GCSEs (A–C) including English and Maths; equivalent qualifications or 3+ years relevant experience may be considered.
• Interest in theatre, arts, conferencing and events.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation for public buildings.
• Strong communication, organisation, customer service and leadership skills.
• Comfortable with physical activity and manual handling.

• Coordinate and oversee conferences, performances, external hires and cultural events.
• Manage bookings and respond to enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Be the main contact for conference clients, coordinating room, tech and catering.

• 10% working allowance, giving an hourly rate of £23.47

About your next employer

You’ll be joining a local authority's Arts and Culture service, supporting the operation of cultural venues and conferencing facilities. The team delivers a varied programme of performances, events and conferences, with a strong focus on safe, efficient operations and high-quality customer service.

About you

• At least two years' recent supervisory experience in a customer-focused service environment, such as arts, leisure, theatre, conferencing, performance or events
• Five GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent), including English and Maths; candidates with at least three years' relevant experience may also be considered
• An interest in theatre, arts, conferencing and events
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, particularly in the day-to-day management of a public building
• Strong communication, organisation, customer service and team leadership skills
• Comfortable with a role involving physical activity and manual handling

What you'll do

• Coordinate and oversee conferences, performances, external hires and cultural events
• Manage conference bookings and respond to enquiries by phone, email and in person
• Act as the main point of contact for conference clients, coordinating room requirements, technical support and catering arrangements
• Supervise staff rotas and organise cover for front-of-house, cleaning, events and duty teams
• Carry out building checks and help ensure health, safety, risk assessment and access requirements are met
• Support budgets, financial reconciliations, stock control and the smooth day‑to‑day running of venues
• Deliver a welcoming, professional service and resolve customer queries or issues
• Work flexibly across venues and shifts, including evenings and events where required
