Job summary

KHR - Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Venue Manager for a busy licensed venue in Medway. The role is full-time (35 hours/week) with occasional weekends and nights, offering a 3-month temp-perm contract and a salary of £32,000 per annum.

You will oversee daily operations, manage the venue team, arrange staff rotas, coordinate events, ensure safety and licensing compliance, and work to deliver excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within a licensed trade, hospitality, events or similar environment.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings, nights and weekends.
• Proven ability to lead a team and develop staff.
• Knowledge of stock control, cash handling, financial procedures and cost management.
• Understanding of licensing, health & safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the venue.
• Lead, support and develop the venue team including supervisors and staff.
• Manage staff rotas, attendance and hours.
• Coordinate events with organisers, clients and internal teams.
• Ensure security, safety and operational checks are completed.
• Monitor sales, costs and financial performance and contribute to budgets.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and health & safety requirements.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and partners.
• Support recruitment, induction and performance management of staff.
• Provide hands-on support during busy periods and events.
