Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking a Vehicle Engineer to plan and execute trials at the Farnborough or Hurn Proving Ground sites. You will instrument vehicles, capture performance data and prepare technical reports for UK Armed Forces programmes.

You will analyse data with MATLAB, support bid activities and contribute to maintenance of facilities. This role blends hands-on testing with rigorous analysis in a dynamic defence environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition and measurement techniques
• Knowledge of data analysis methodologies and MATLAB or similar tools
• Strong reporting, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills
• Commitment to safety in hands-on field trials and facility operations

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and support vehicle trials and assessments, ensuring safety and customer requirements
• Install instrumentation systems to capture vehicle performance, mobility, noise, vibration, and shock data
• Analyse trial data using MATLAB and produce technical reports with recommendations
• Collaborate with customers, military personnel and internal stakeholders to deliver test programs
• Contribute to proposals, bid writing and cost estimation for future opportunities
• Maintain operations of the Hurn Proving Ground ensuring facilities are safe and ready
