Job summary

QinetiQ in Eskmeals is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support defence trials through data collection and equipment operation. You will prepare, deploy and operate high-speed cameras, thermal imaging and pressure measurement gear, ensuring safe and accurate data capture for customers.

The role emphasises hands-on engineering work, fault-finding and collaboration within a skilled instrumentation team, with clear safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Practical hands-on technical or engineering experience.
• Strong computer literacy and confidence working with data and software systems.
• Ability to learn new equipment, systems and technologies quickly.
• Experience of problem solving and fault finding in a technical environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to following procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, deploying and operating instrumentation and data gathering equipment during trials.
• Supporting the collection, validation and collation of trial data for customer reporting.
• Maintaining instrumentation equipment in accordance with work instructions, manufacturer guidance and quality standards.
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding equipment issues to ensure successful data capture.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver safe and effective trial activities.
• Adhering to all safety, quality and security requirements throughout trial operations.
