Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council Fleet Services seeks a Vehicle Technician to support depots in Beverley, Carnaby and Goole. You will work in a busy workshop handling a large, varied fleet, performing maintenance, MOT prep, and diagnostics to keep vehicles safe and compliant.

The role offers extensive in-house training within an award-winning council, with opportunities to grow skills across a range of wheel-based and road maintenance machinery, including seasonal overhaul work.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a vehicle maintenance workshop.
• Duties include pre planned maintenance and MOT/LGV plating test preparation.
• In-depth diagnostics using various equipment.
• Experience with seasonal overhaul work on ride-on mowers, gritters and road maintenance machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the council's diverse and varied fleet.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and LGV plating tests.
• Carry out pre-planned maintenance and diagnostics as required.

This will enable us to keep up with the demands of maintaining the council's diverse and varied fleet. Applicants must have experience of working within a vehicle maintenance workshop, duties include pre planned maintenance, have knowledge in preparing vehicles for both MOT and LGV Plating Tests, seasonal overhaul work of ride on mowers, gritters and road maintenance machinery, in depth diagnostics using several different pieces of equipment, This will enable us to keep up with the demands of maintaining the council's diverse and varied fleet.

The vehicle maintenance is looking to expand through recruiting several highly skilled experienced vehicle technicians on various shift patterns including Mobile Technicians.
