Job summary

G&P Quality Management is seeking a hands-on Vehicle Workshop Technician in Coventry to join a busy engineering team supporting prototype and development vehicles.

You will diagnose faults, carry out electrical and mechanical repairs, support powertrain work, and use diagnostic software and measurement tools, all while maintaining high workshop standards.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
  • Strong diagnostics, electrical fault finding and mechanical repair skills.
  • Knowledge of modern vehicle technologies including hybrid and electric.
  • Experience in powertrain or prototype vehicle environments desirable.
  • Familiar with diagnostic software and workshop equipment.
  • Good Health & Safety understanding.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety and environmental requirements, including Risk Assessments, HAVS, and COSHH.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and the wider workshop team to deliver project objectives.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Workshop Technician to join a busy engineering team supporting the development, maintenance, and repair of prototype and development vehicles.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and electrical repairs.
  • Support mechanical powertrain repairs, modifications, and software updates.

  • Use automotive software interfaces and diagnostic equipment.

What We're Looking For
